IREDA offering financial assistance under the credit line of World Bank, Asian development bank and KFW Germany, IREDA provides loans for biomass based Power projects, also for waste heat recovery projects, and energy efficiency up gradation projects besides many other non-conventional energy related projects.

Besides the above Dimension, group continuously support the technology of using different kind of fossil fuels from coal, napthes, lignite to pet coke. A continuous endeavor is going on to reduce pollutant is fossil fuel based power plants and to utilise the optimum efficiency by using various combinations of fuel in modern commercially viable power plants.

The following areas are focused in R & D during present and next Couple of financial year (2009-14).

1) Heat Recovery :

• Optmisation of Heat & Mass Balance Diagram ( HMBD )
• Utilisation of Waste Heat from process, unutilised thermal energy in economiser, airpreheater, PRDS system.
• Heating & Chilling Process through Waste Heat (VAM System).
• Utilisation of Waste Heat from Sponge Iron Kiln Waste Gas, BFG Gas etc from Steel Plants.
• Drying of wet fuel by unutlilsed hot flue gas/air.

2) Energy Efficiency : 

• Optimisation of Auxiliary Power Consumptions.
• Energy upgradation by cycle improvement.
• Review of Parameters of Process for better efficiency.
• Utilisation of Heat Recovery Equipments to upgrade efficiency.

3) Major Anti Pollution Measures :

• Utlisation of Electro Static Precipitator System (ESP) & Dust Collector System and its effectiveness analysis, recuperator etc.
• Use of Effliument Treatment System. 
• Ash Disposal System & sustainable analysis.
• Zero discharge water system.
• Reduction of Green houses gases.
• Balancing atmosphere sustainable with industrial pollution.
